What can we do with consent data collected before JustGiving's GDPR updates go live?

Any consent data gathered on JustGiving prior to our GDPR updates should be integrated into your plans for seeking fresh consent from people. This should be done by 25th May 2018 when the GDPR becomes enforceable. Charities are solely responsible for determining whether their actions are in compliance with GDPR. You should confer with your trustees/DPO/legal advisers to determine what your processes should be here.

The consent wording on JustGiving is currently: “I’m happy to be contacted by {charity}” and the box is not pre-ticked.

This consent statement will be changing as part of our first round of GDPR updates to JustGiving, which is currently on track to be released at the end of March.
