We're saying goodbye to JustTextGiving

After a great partnership with Vodafone we've decided it's time to say goodbye to JustTextGiving.

This change will not take place until 31st March 2019, after which all text codes will be deactivated. In the meantime, you can still view and manage your JustTextGiving codes.

Why are we saying goodbye to JustTextGiving?

JustTextGiving has been a fabulous success which Vodafone and JustGiving are enormously proud of and leaves a legacy of reinvented giving for many fundraisers and charities. However, use of the service has been in decline since 2014. During the same period smartphone technology has meant that more and more people prefer to donate directly via their internet-ready device and consistently achieve higher donation values.

After careful consideration, JustGiving and Vodafone have jointly made the decision to bid farewell to JustTextGiving.

Can I still create text codes?

You will be able to create text codes from within your charity account until Jan 31st, 2019. After this date you will not be able to create any new codes or edit any existing codes. If you deactivate a code after this date you will not be able to reactivate it.

You can read about how to view existing and create new codes here.

Can my supporters still donate to text codes?

All existing text codes will continue to be able to receive donations up until Mar 31st 2019.

Can my fundraisers still have text codes attached to their page?

All pages created before January 31st 2019 will automatically have a text code assigned to the page, as always. After this date, no new codes will be created and fundraisers will not be able to edit their existing codes. Any existing codes will continue to work until March 31st 2019.

Do I need to inform my fundraisers?

No, we are contacting fundraisers who use the service to inform them and help provide tips to raise more.

What will happen if someone tries to donate after March 31st?

After March 31st 2019 anyone who tries to donate via a JG text code will receive a text message pointing them in the direction of justgiving.com to make an online donation.
