When you are looking at your payment or donation reports, you may notice some donors appear as Anonymous in the Donor name columns. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) laws, for donors and charities location in the European Economic Area (EEA) when a donor chooses not to pass on their information to the charity, we must list that the donor as Anonymous. If, on the other hand, they are happy to pass their details onto you, you'll see their name and email address.
For donors and charities located outside of the EEA, we may display the donor's personal information alongside a column that show if the donor has given consent to be contacted by the charity. Charities must respect this consent and not contact the charity if the donor has opted out. If, on the other hand, they are happy to be contacted, you'll see that you can contact the donor.
For donation made prior to enabling GDPR regulations on the site, you may see donors outside the UK listed as Anonymous as well.
