We’re excited to be able to provide a platform fee free offer to our US organizations. We think these FAQ’s may be helpful.
Why are you making this change?
We are committed to providing a cost-effective service to the organizations who choose to use our service. So we do not charge a platform fee on any individual donations made to US charities processing on the DAF. Instead, we give donors the option to make a voluntary contribution to the cost of maintaining our platform should they wish.
What is the DAF?
For charity customers in the US, we offer multiple payment processing options to ensure your donations are processed safely and securely and that you receive the funds donated to your organization in a timely fashion. By default in the US, donations are processed to a third-party Donor Advised Fund (DAF) and then remitted your organization periodically. US organizations can also elect to process donations via BBMS (Blackbaud Merchant Services).
More information on how donations are processed can be found here. Further details on payment processors can be found in our Terms of Service.
Do I have other options?
US organizations can elect to process donations via BBMS (Blackbaud Merchant Services) which uses the donor cover model.
More information on the various processing and fee options can be found here.
What if I have further questions?
Chat support is provided by Blackbaud’s award winning support team. You’ll need your Blackbaud.com log in in order to get in touch with support.
Details on how to contact support can be found here.
Wait, I also got an email about a no-fee direct donation button. Is this the same thing?
No. Some DAF customers have been invited to trial a new Giving Check Out direct donation offer via JustGiving. This is a limited release feature at this time. If you have questions about that, click here.
